Caption: PHIL H. WEBBER/P-I PHOTOS: This 200-ton floating home is being built in Ladner, B.C., by International Marine Floatation Systems Inc. and was designed by Seattle's Gene Morris. The structure, bought by a Microsoft executive, will be exported to Seattle in May to its home on Lake Union. Gary Britz, right, checks the steel beams of the floating
home, which will have a submersed den and 3-foot underwater porthole. In the background is a structure that will be used as a bed and breakfast in British Columbia. The home that will be on Lake Union will first be towed from the Fraser River.
